As a GST/HST registrant with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), you are required to maintain your books and records outside of Canada. Click the button below to learn how to sell to Canada and what information needs to be tracked on your invoices.
GST/HST Registrant Seller Information
When reporting to the Canada Revenue Agency, the simple one-page form will ask you the amount of GST/HST you collected (on your invoices) and the amount you paid (on our invoices) over a specified period. If you paid more GST/HST than you collected (ie. due to exchange rate and rounding differences etc.), then CRA will issue you a direct credit for the difference. If you collected more than you paid, then you will issue payment to the CRA for the difference. The net affect is that it all balances.
