To begin importing a vehicle returning to Canada, Customsquote Brokerage Services will require certain documents to satisfy the requirements of Canada Customs (CBSA). All importers should complete and send the following documents to:

Required Documents
Please provide each of the following documents to Customsquote Brokerage Services:
- Proforma Invoice – Proforma Invoice template
- Certificate of Title or Canadian registration documents
- Letter from the Original Manufacturer or a Safety Compliance Label that shows it complies with the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS)
- Copy of the Original Bill of Sale or Purchase Agreement or Registration Document showing the vehicle was registered in Canada by the Canadian importer prior to export.
- AES Vehicle Export Request Form – Required for the mandatory 72 hour export notice filing to U.S. Customs (CBP). Please click here to complete our request form. *Note: if the crossing date changes, we will require 24 hours notice to make changes with US Customs. The information on this form must be exact or U.S. Customs could delay or deny entry at time of crossing.
Note: The original Proforma Invoice and title will need to be with the vehicle when clearing Customs!

Note: Canada Customs (CBSA) working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will perform a “Soil Examination” when a vehicle arrives in Canada, you will want to make sure the vehicle is clean, free from dirt, bugs and insects before it arrives in Canada. A document called a “Fumigation Certificate” will provide proof to Customs (CBSA) that the vehicle was professionally cleaned before it was shipped to Canada.
